Golden Sweet Cornbread

I've used plain skim milk, evaporated milk, and buttermilk (due to what I had on hand); I've made this in cake pans, pie plates, an iron skillet, and as muffins- every version was great! This is an absolutely outstanding recipe. It makes 12 muffins perfectly, and this is a nice easy way to serve them to guests. I agree with a former person that they are great with butter and honey. I am serving them this evening with a soup and salad for a nice comfort meal.
I typically do not like sweet cornbreads, but I decided to expiriment. This recipe was delightful; and the addition of 1/2 t vanilla gave the bread a nice overtone to it. This is a recipe I'll keep on hand. Following other's suggestions I reduced the sugar to 1/2 cup, added a smigen more salt, 1/2 t imitation vanilla extract, and added perhaps 2 Tbls of oil.
